The Owners

As I take this moment to look back on the years of development of my brand. Let’s take a look back on memory lane. People would stop by the actual hair salon, visit the social media pages and or surf the website… One might be lead to believe that the journey was easy without life's fair share of trials and tribulations. You may have been tempted to believe that we had it made from the very beginning. However, such thoughts couldn’t be any further from the truth. As a single mother initially working her way up the corporate ladder for someone else, I had a very tough decision to make when weighing my obligations towards my young son Jay. Who was a toddler at the time and my aspirations as a small business owner.

It took quite a leap of faith for me to give up the corporate world comprised of that apparent “job security”,  and to dive into entrepreneurship without any guarantees whatsoever of success. The fear of failure, the hardship of having to provide for and to raise my son all by myself with a business that was at its early stages, and the economy being at its worst with a country in a recession, were all factors that could have caused me to give up on my dreams. But faith as small as a mustard seed! While knowing my father never lets me walk in darkness we will always rise.
